Plenty Valley Community Health
Phillip Bain CEO

Welcome from our CEO Phillip Bain

Plenty Valley Community Health is a Whittlesea based service that has supported the primary care needs of the outer north of Melbourne for nearly three decades.

Plenty Valley Community Health was created in 1997 from a merger of two established health services. Since 1997 Whittlesea has grown dramatically and so have our services.

Plenty Valley is proud of its record of service and advocacy on behalf of our community for new health infrastructure, new specialist services and for system reform and wants to ensure that local people can access quality services in a timely way irrespective of their income, location, language, culture or knowledge of the health care system.

We now run services from seven sites with the main site based with the Northern Hospital at Epping. Our client services are dotted across the Whittlesea area; in the Whittlesea Township, Mill Park, Thomastown and South Morang.

Plenty Valley has 260 staff providing a wide variety of clinical and community services. These include dental, disability, physiotherapy, podiatry, diabetes care, psychology, mother-baby services, general practice, women’s health, health promotion, and the list continues. Please check our website for a full list of services and how to access them.

Services can be accessed directly by contacting our Intake workers at Epping or by doctor’s referral. Some appointments can be made online.

Community health is different to many other services. It is a community-controlled organisation with its own Board drawn from the community and a philosophy that looks beyond the immediate illness or symptoms of our clients. We look to the cause of illness and supporting our clients to make the health and lifestyle choices that reduce the need to go to hospital.

We are fortunate to have a highly professional staff team linked to health networks and specialists that together ensure the highest standard of care.

Plenty Valley is a forward looking and connected health service that enjoys strong community support. I hope that you find our website and publications helpful in thinking about your own physical and mental health needs. You are part of our community and important to us. Please feel free to access our programs and services.
